    CEL and GAA Development Initiative

CEL announced its latest initiative during the month of September, one which is unique in terms of consultancy engineering's abilities to counteract the negative effect that the economy is dealing out. Having contacted the local provincial council of Cumann Lughchleas Gael or the GAA, managing director, Sen Mac Diarmada informed Comhairle Uladh or the Ulster Council that the company would be offering a 10% discount on mechanical and electrical consultancy fees for projects for clubs currently seeking construction works. The scope of these works can range from pitch lighting across the board to new clubhouses or training facilities.

Speaking to the local papers after the announcement, managing director Sen Mac Diarmada stated, "The GAA has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have, as well as a number of the Cuilinn Engineering Team, been members of the GAA, both as hurlers and footballers as well as officers on club committees. It is a different organisation today than the one I began with in terms of facilities and resources, but the ingenuity, hard work and dedication of its members and the communities the clubs represent has remained unparalleled. These elements have brought Ireland of 2009 an association that is the envy of sporting organisations around the world. I believe that we can now give a little back and will endeavour to ensure that the economic fog will not hinder the continued growth and development of Cumann Lughchleas Gael."

Cuilinn Engineering Ltd's representative asked the contact in the Ulster Council to pass on word of this initiative to the other three provincial councils as CEL is keen to ensure all clubs in Ireland and indeed those across the seas can avail of this scheme.

CEL will be announcing other such programmes in 2009 for the benefit of other sporting organisations and will be aiming to bring on-line discounts for a range of project types. News of these launches will be released to the local Newry and Dundalk newspapers as well as posted on the Cuilinn Engineering Ltd website.

CEL Project Manager Sees No Turndown

Cuilinn Engineering Ltd has never been as busy, that's the word from Managing Director, Sen Mac Diarmada. This news from the Jonesborough company comes as it is experiencing a large influx of projects ranging from larger domestic to heavy industrial projects across Ireland and further afield. The engineering group has created five new positions since last April, a direct product of this growth and a certain indication of larger initiatives to come.

Echoing Sen Mac Diarmada's sentiments, CEL's project manager stated, "It is brilliant to see the on-going work in the construction sector despite the economic climate that the country is enduring and despite the news that myself like everyone else reads everyday. There is no question that there is work going on in the construction industry, this work is keeping people in jobs and these jobs are keeping the communities strong."
